1978 to 1980 Turbo DIESEL models. Steering locks are in short supply and reports they will not be made again. This is lubricated, assembled and tested before we ship.
We have been informed that there is no plan to manufacture new steering locks again for these classic cars. This will also fit the European R107 280SL . If your 380SL or 560SL key is stuck or is sticking, this may be your only option for repair!

Fits the following: All W116 W123 and W126 Chassis Diesels from 1977-1985. This is a brand new Genuine Mercedes Steering lock vacuum shut-off valve that is located on the back of your ignition lock assembly. We include 2 pieces of correct sized rubber vacuum hose as shown.

LAST ONE. If you have a stuck key or a failed lock in your 1977 to 1979 W123, this is your best option for a reliable replacement, but we only have ONE of these in stock like this. The exact originals, as shown in the picture below, are no longer made.
When replacing the steering lock assembly in your Benz you will need to remove that little black plastic switch on the side of the lock from the old one and put it on the new part. You can not pry it off, squeeze it off or pull it off by hand.

NO WARRANTY IF YOU LOCK THIS UP. If you take it apart to install the transmission lock-up cam, do not "play" with it. Do not turn the key fully on until you have installed the lockout cam, rear electrical switch, and the cable for the transmission.
This assembly has a new tumbler installed with two keys included. It will fit the 1980 to 1985 240D, 300D, 300CD, and 300TD. It will also fit the 1981 to 1985 300SD and the 1986 to 1987 300SDL.
Excellent used steering lock with a good electrical switch. VERY smooth operation. It is obvious it is not a high-mileage unit. Look at the condition of the original O.E. high security key (one key available). Even has the buzzer switch intact.

Genuine MBZ Part with wiring plug for later models: Please note this buzzer is really for the 1985 and later models. The wiring pigtail is not used on pre-1985 steering locks. The switch itself is the same but for older models you will have to install and leave the pigtail connected.
Kent has learned that you really can not tell how good your v belts are by just looking at them, especially if they are over 15 years old. Kind of like old tires - they may look good on the outside.
This GENUINE MERCEDES switch will work on all 107 chassis 380SL and 560SL 1981 to 1989, all 126 chassis sedans and coupes 1981 to 1991 , all 123 chassis 240D 300D 300CD 300TD from 1980 to 1985, all 201 chassis 190E 2.6 and 190D ( 190E 2.3 up to 1988 ONLY) and all 124 chassis from 1986 to 1993.
These instructions pertain only to the multi pin plug switch on the back of the ignition lock and key assembly.
All 380SL, 380SE, and 380SEL owners take note. Even if you acquire a nice 380 like Kent's Cherry you are going to need some or all of these components ( unless of course it was recently done by a competent mechanic ).
