When prepping many surfaces on your engine for replacement gaskets or application of RTV sealant it is very important not to scratch the metal. In some cases that can set up corrosion or possible small leaks that will lead to premature failure of the repair.

Good used later OM671 turbo intake elbow. For 1981 to 1984 models without trap oxidizer. Please note comes with both clamps and older but straight rubber seals. Seals are usable but just starting to get a little hard.

This upper guide rail is no longer available new. If yours is cracked or excessively worn then it needs to be changed when you replace a timing chain. We have collected all the good ones we have which are not very many.
When working on automotive engines a long heavy machinist straight edge is a must. This is the best way to tell if the mating surfaces are flat and true. That includes cylinder heads, engine blocks, intake and exhaust manifolds as well as critical sealing metal to metal covers and housings.

Pencil (parallel style) glow plugs usually fail slowly over time. The first signs are rough running after startup. Then you may see a flashing glow plug light on your dash. If ignored over time you engine may not start at all.

This standard 24 mm combination wrench is specially ground in our shop so that it will hold the fitting on the late 616 and 617 oil filter housing when loosening the oil cooler hose end nut. Without this wrench the fitting may start to turn with the hose nut and you will never get it off.

This engine oil drain plug can help extend the life of your old diesel engine. It is not a normal drain plug nor is it some cheap magnetic drain plug that will pick up a few paper clips! This one has to have the strongest magnet in the world for its size.
