When prepping many surfaces on your engine for replacement gaskets or application of RTV sealant it is very important not to scratch the metal. In some cases that can set up corrosion or possible small leaks that will lead to premature failure of the repair.

If you have a Mercedes of this era equipped with an impulse code reader you will find a little numbered black box similar to the one in the pictured here in your engine compartment. It is located over by the battery and may have a black cover on it that can be lifted off.

This is the standard 14 mm long pan plug used on many engines with aluminum pans from the mid 1980's on. Before ordering make certain you have this type of pan plug. This engine oil drain plug can help extend the life of your old diesel engine.

This upper guide rail is no longer available new. If yours is cracked or excessively worn then it needs to be changed when you replace a timing chain. We have collected all the good ones we have which are not very many.

Pencil (parallel style) glow plugs usually fail slowly over time. The first signs are rough running after startup. Then you may see a flashing glow plug light on your dash. If ignored over time you engine may not start at all.

Many owners neglect replacing the engine coolant thermostat. It just slowly wears out over time. If you notice your engine temperature running low or you car taking a long time to heat up inside these are the first signs your thermostat has failed.

Excellent USED Factory Fan clutch removed from a OM 617 turbo diesel engine. Appears to be low time. Very firm and smooth movement. Fit all 5 cylinder diesels 1975 to 1985 as well as some gas engines.
This standard 24 mm combination wrench is specially ground in our shop so that it will hold the fitting on the late 616 and 617 oil filter housing when loosening the oil cooler hose end nut. Without this wrench the fitting may start to turn with the hose nut and you will never get it off.
