You do not need a $100 plus multimeter to test most automotive electrical components. But you do need one that is very accurate and easy to read. This is especially true when testing D-jetronic and K-Jetronic fuel injection.
If your early door lock actuators do not have any cracks in the rubber diaphragms, but they just won't hold vacuum - it may be possible to fix them by taking them apart and cleaning and resealing the outer lip of each diaphragm.

If your fuel level gauge is not reading accurately or the needle jumps around and or your car’s low fuel warning light does not comes on, it is usually a problem with the tubular sending unit in the fuel tank.
Take a very close look at the picture. These are all the gaskets and seals you will need to replace if you open up your 722.3 transmission that was produced from 1981 to 1990 for all 6 and 8-cylinder passenger cars that had a displacement of 3.0 liters or more.

This tester is specific to K-Jetronic V8 engines due to the special fittings and adapters it includes. These included M116 and M117 engines in the W116, R107, and early W126 chassis.
This is a very critical and very neglected filter located inside the fuel tank.

Leaking fuel injector pumps have become a very common problem in the 60x. engines produced from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s. The early 60x.
