Mercedes installed small fuel warmers on these engines using engine coolant to warm up the fuel just before it enters the injection pump. The idea is great - especially in cold climates, but in moderate and warmer climates it is probably not needed.
Over the years Kent has used a number of different things to place on top his jack stands to prevent damage and for added security. He has even tried some of the commercially available jack stand plastic covers. Nothing has proven to work better than the special cut reinforced hose shown here.

Many of our customers are wondering whether they should get bright white or warm white LED bulbs for their dash lights. It is a personal preference, so you have to be careful not to just go with someone else's advice. Also, some of you are concerned that the LED's will be too bright in the dash.
The dash lights on these older models have never been super bright and on the 123 chassis they have been down right dim - even with new bulbs and a new potentiometer.

While working on the fuel injectors of a 240D this week, Kent finally decided he had had enough. After 20 years of fighting those fuel injector return hoses he decided he just had to come up with a tool to make the job easier. 2 hours later the tool was designed and the prototype made.
Any time you are removing and replacing your fuel injectors you will need to change the return hose and the heat shield crush washers. If you don’t, you will have leaking hoses and possible compression leaks at the injector nozzles.

When prepping many surfaces on your engine for replacement gaskets or application of RTV sealant it is very important not to scratch the metal. In some cases that can set up corrosion or possible small leaks that will lead to premature failure of the repair.
Kent uses these superb plastic razor blades regularly in his shop. Recently they proved very useful when resealing the magnesium engine breather covers on an M113 engine. There are seven green and three orange in this little package.
Removing a Mercedes instrument cluster from any of the chassis listed is easy with these special "pull" tools. Many owners do not realize that the instrument cluster is just pushed into the dash panel and not held in with any bolts or screws.
