Kent's procedure uses the factory recommended "drip tube method" but with a "twist." He has devised a way to get accurate and consistant IP timing results while trying to get the drip tube to drip at one drip per second exactly when it should!

All these 124 chassis cars are 20 years or older. That is when rubber parts start to fail regardless of mileage. If you want to restore the factory ride and handling Kent strongly recommends you replace the top rubber mounts when you replace the shocks.

Kent has been working a long time to find a way to stop the ugly corrosion on aluminum and magnesium engine parts. Particularly valve covers and intake manifolds.
While working on the fuel injectors of a 240D this week, Kent finally decided he had had enough. After 20 years of fighting those fuel injector return hoses he decided he just had to come up with a tool to make the job easier. 2 hours later the tool was designed and the prototype made.
Any time you are removing and replacing your fuel injectors you will need to change the return hose and the heat shield crush washers. If you don’t, you will have leaking hoses and possible compression leaks at the injector nozzles.
If you are tired of "guessing" on those critical low torque settings maybe it is time to get a small torque wrench. This is the one Kent likes for super low torque settings up. It is quality made and will not cost you an arm and a leg. You can even calibrate it yourself!

Removing a Mercedes instrument cluster from any of the chassis listed is easy with these special "pull" tools. Many owners do not realize that the instrument cluster is just pushed into the dash panel and not held in with any bolts or screws.

This is one of Kent's favorite tools around his shop. It is used almost daily. The tool rose out of a need to be able to safely hold fuel inectors while cleaning when with a large high speed wire wheel. No tool like this is availabe so it had to be built in our shop!

Kent has never seen fresh fuel hoses on all the old MFI Mercedes he has worked on over the years. They only seem to get changed when they start leaking. Leaking fuel hoses at the electric fuel pump is a fire hazard!
Leaking fuel injector pumps have become a very common problem in the 60x. engines produced from the mid 1980s to the mid 1990s. The early 60x.
Most owners do not have a big enough hex wrench to remove the fuel tank screen on those models that had the fuel tank right under the rear trunk floor. But the screen does need to be removed, inspected and cleaned due to the age of these cars.

A broken radiator neck can be safely repaired if it breaks off cleanly in the center or aft of the center of the neck. If it breaks off too close to the tank or breaks off in multiple small pieces then we advise that you replace the radiator.
Distributor neglect is one of the most common neglected maintenance items that we see on the 6 cylinder 103 engine. Just because the engine is running ok does not mean that the parts are not worn out. One day you will get up in the morning and the engine will not start.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a wiring kit ONLY. You will need special FAST glow plugs and glow plug wires to complete a successful installation. This kit will not work with your orginal lopped-end series glow plugs.
Please note I can not guarantee that all gaskets originally with the set are there. It has been opened. Please look at picture carefully. What you see is what you get. Please make certain this fits your later 189 engine.
If your modulator is working ok, but leaking transmission fluid, you may only need to replace the inexpensive oring ( o ring ). You do have to be careful when removing the modulator from the transmission. For instructions (available separately) see related products below.

This is no longer available so we custom make this in our shop. This hard to find 5 way vacuum connector can be used to replace a worn or deteriorated factory connector you as an alternation you can use it to replace 2 - 3 way connectors where needed.
