Electric power seats are great if they are working ok. When they do not work - especially in the fore and aft or tilt movement it can be very frustrating to even drive the car.
If your power seat is not working it is hard to determine if it is a switch, a motor under or inside the seat, or a wiring problem. From our experience xx % of the time the problem is in a worn out or failed electrical seat switch.
If your rear door power window is not moving or the motor is not making any noise, it could be a failed motor, rear door switch, front switch or even a wiring problem. Trying to narrow down the problem can be frustrating unless you know the proper troubleshooting sequence.

We love doing oil changes on these engines. The oil filter housing is right in the front of the engine with NO obstruction. The engineers were finally thinking about us!
Why do these go hand-in-hand? Well if you do not change the cabin air filter(s) it is likely the dust will work its way into the blower motor and cause squeaking and chirping at low fan speeds. If that noise is ignored you will end up replacement the heater blower motor.
THESE ARE GENUINE BOSCH. Do not purchase the cheaper aftermarket regulators as we have found they do not last. This voltage regulator that bolts on to the back of your alternator. This is the common failure point and when it does you will not be getting any charge to your battery.
Many owners neglect replacing the engine coolant thermostat. It just slowly wears out over time. If you notice your engine temperature running low or you car taking a long time to heat up inside these are the first signs your thermostat has failed.
Removing the rear axles from the W201 chassis is not a difficult job provided everthing goes well. In fact, the procedure is considerably simplier than removing axles from the older swing arm rear ends of the 1970's and early 1980's.

This was for a non-sunroof model, but as you can see on the back side, there is a factory cutout that will allow you to stall your own sunroof switch. Although not perfect, this may be one of the better 116 center dash wood pieces you will find.

One of the cheapest ways to fix your worn out W140 blower motor is to replace just the motor. You do not have to replace the entire unit. BUT repairing it this way is not as easy as it may appear!
The bowden cable runs from the transmission to the throttle linkage on many Mercedes from the early 1980's up through the early mid 1990's. When this cable fails or is out of adjustment the transmission will either shift too early or too late.
Brand New aftermarket heater blower motor. There are not many options for the 123 owners other than used. Many of the used heater motors out there are just worn out. This is a direct replacement ready to install under your dash.
If your serpentine belt is starting to crack or the back side is worn smooth, you need to replace it. If you are hearing strange noises from the front of your 1986 to 1993 six cylinder gas engine, you will need to remove the belt to troubleshoot the problem.
The voltage regulator is a very inexpensive part that usually wears out between 110,000 to 130,000 miles. It is often neglected and Kent believes many alternators have been replaced over the years when all they needed was a $25 to $30 voltage regulator!!!
Starting in the U.S. model year 1986, the headlights were changed on the W126 models. You could no longer just unscrew some plastic knobs to get the headlight door (plastic surround) off. This new style plastic door became the cover for the fog light as well.
If your engine temperature gauge is not reading at all, you need to fix it before you keep driving the car. To ignore this could lead to major engine failure, since you will have no way to get an adequate warning that your engine is about to overheat.
How many bent or deformed trunk lid emblems have you seen on older Mercedes? Getting them on and off is not difficult, but if you want to get them on and off without bending the soft emblem or scratching the paint on the lid - well that takes some finesse!
Is your driver side or right side manual adjusting mirror getting difficult to adjust? Is the mechanism broken or will not hold adjustment? Does the mirror glass need replacing? Repairing these types of problems is definitely something you can do yourself!
This is another small "frustration" for W123 diesel owners. The fuse box cover is mounted flat to the firewall behind and to the left of the brake booster. You can not just pull it straight out nor can you just push it straight back on.
ONLY ONE AVAILABLE. Wheel only NO TIRE. These wheels were unique to the last couple of years of the US model 240D. They will of course, fit all 123 chassis as well as the older 114 and 115. They make for great spare tires as they are so light. These are rare and getting harder to find.
Last one we have. An excellent used bracket that bolts to the engine block to mount the alternator. The bolts in this bracket often get frozen to the aluminum and require cutting. The only solution is to get another bracket as shown here. Not difficult to install.
Excellent. One of the better ones we have seen. Good used SOFT RUBBER intact rubber instrument cluster hold-in gasket. This is what holds the cluster tightly in place on the dash. These often get damaged, and the cluster housing won't stay in the dash.
The plastic shift bushing is a very common part that needs to be replaced on older Mercedes. Can you believe it is the exact same part that was used on all models for over 25 years! It is an inexpensive part that can cause big problems if it breaks out.

New Axle seals to seal rear differential housing to rear axles. Please note that these only fit certain models and some are subject to a vin number split. If in doubt look at your current seals and measure the diameter.
BGood used steering wheel as shown. Not perfect but above average. It is worn some at the top but still has slight grain there. The rubber is very firm on the ring ALL the way around the wheel. No chunks are torn out of the rubber. Getting hard to find them even this nice.
This engine oil drain plug can help extend the life of your old diesel engine. It is not a normal drain plug nor is it some cheap magnetic drain plug that will pick up a few paper clips! This one has to have the strongest magnet in the world for its size.
